AuxComm is a FEMA program of Specially trained
Amateur Radio Operators
Serving in Auxiliary Communications
as an Auxiliary Communicators operator
during a declared event/emergency
AuxComm Prerequisites 1. A valid Amateur Radio Operators License 2. Successful completion of EMI ICS online courses IS-100.c, IS-200.b, IS-700.b 3. successful completion of the ARRL EC-001 Introduction to Emergency Communication course |
Basis and purpose of the Amateur Radio Service Recognition and enhancement of the value of the amateur service to the public as a voluntary noncommercial communication service, particularly with respect to providing emergency communications. |
When your Incident Commander activates your CERT you will be in a designated position within your incident command structure. |
Your AUXCOMM training would allow you to better interface with the Palm Beach County Emergency Operating Center and other emergency service organizations |
As a specially trained Amateur Radio Operator serving as an AuxComm Auxiliary Communicator, you can be asked to perform many different tasks associated with Emergency Communications within the ISMA CERT As an AuxComm you'll NEVER be asked to perform tasks not related to communications |
